This comes amid the ongoing crackdown in the sector as the government seeks to restore sobriety and discipline in our roads.

But according to Ayacko, the police are overdoing the same in the county, especially along the road joining Rongo and Migori Towns.

In a tweet Friday, Ayacko decried harassment of bodaboda operators along the 55 kilometer stretch, adding that the police have erected around 7 roadblocks.

He has expressed fear that the harassment might force the operators, most of whom are youth, out of their legal self-sustainance techniques and into crime.

‘’Between Rongo and Migori (distance of 55km), traffic police have erected around 7 roadblocks. Boda-Boda operators are harassed constantly. We're talking about young people who'll slide back to crime if this source of livelihood is taken away. Government should have this in mind,’’ he tweeted.

The Government under Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has since maintained that it is committed to securing the roads and will stop at noting in pushing for complete adherence to traffic rules.

This has seen the increase of all police units on the roads, as they strive to adhere to the orders.
