Led by Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Atieno Ndede-Amadi members of the University’s senate denied a big fraction of 11 allegations directed towards the University’s management.

Among them is a claim that the Vice Chancellor is involved in devil worship where members of staff are recruited, and those who have since been recruited have developed strange diseases, and the university has also lost five students mysteriously.

“We are not aware of this. Perhaps those who allege can shed more light for clarity,” reads a statement released to the press by the University’s senate on Wednesday morning.

The university VC also denied allegations that the institution's staff have gone for one year without salary.

“We are behind in salary payment that is fact. And this is due to various factors key among them being the huge debts such as the KRA tax arrears. However, we always try as much as we can to pay half salary so that workers do not go away empty handed at the end of the month. Salary arrears is six months, not one year,” she said.

The VC confirmed reports that the University’s bank accounts were frozen last month following over Sh95 million owed to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in tax arrears.

Ms Amadi started serving as GLUK VC two years ago.

Most of her term in office has been occasioned by leadership wrangles, with ‘people’ opposed to her leadership being accused of raising the claims.

With Campuses in Nairobi, Kisumu CBD and Milimani, GLUK currently has 1, 000 students.
