Ford Kenya party boss, Moses Wetangula has seemingly mocked ODM following defeats in Ugenya and Embakasi South mini polls held on Friday.
ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has already conceded defeat following the party's disastrous outing that saw Chris Karan lose to David Ochieng' in Ugenya and another loss by Irshad Sumra to Julius Mawathe in Embakasi South.
"We had a tough day at the ballot. The entire @TheODMparty put in their best effort but we have come up short in both Ugenya and Embakasi South. I thank all those who turned out to support us. Congratulations are in order Hon. Mawathe and @WiperMovement. Godspeed," he wrote.
But Wetangula, who was ousted by ODM from Senate Minority Leadership post, hailed the winning candidates, adding that his prayers never went in vain. He said the victory was a relief to him.
"Congratulations David Ochieng and Julius Mawathe for winning mini elections in Ugenya and Embakasi South respectively. Our support and prayers were not in vain. Mungu halali, hasahau wala hachoki," Wetangula wrote.
Last year, in what turned out to be an acrimonious fallout between the Bungoma Senator and Raila Odinga, ODM replaced him with James Orengo, who coincidentally led the Ugenya campaigns in which ODM lost.
Similar sentiments were passed across by Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut, who mocked the ODM party following the loss. He even threatened ODM to try to kick out Aisha Jumwa of Malindi for another by-election.
"ODM losing both in Embakasi South and Ugenya! The Orange is rotten and smelly. Let's go to Malindi for another by-election," Chepkut said.
