A section of men in Uasin Gishu county has said they cannot get married to women who have children out of wedlock. If they will, then they will be treated as special circumstances surrounding it.
A man needs to be entitled and responsible to what he owns, he is normally possessive of what is found in his household and not what belongs to someone else.
”As men, we are independent and proud of our wives we sire children with and in rare cases, those who get married to women having children are forced when they are old aged,” Sammy Rono, an Eldoret resident revealed.
A woman who identified herself as Mercy said that when a man marries a lady who already has a child, they are always subjected to scoffing with their peers and even parents who expect their son to have their own child.
“Men are not willing to provide to the child a woman sired out of their relationship. They prefer going after ladies that have no links or relationships,” said Mercy, a mother of one who also pointed out that men prefer courting women having no children for minimal expenses and avoid loses in case the deadbeat fathers resurface to claim the child.
“In a relationship, men are worried of those who sired children to make a comeback and snatch ‘former fiancé’ with the child,” Mzee Desmon Misoi noted.
