Odinga said they discussed a wide range of issues with the leaders when they paid him a courtesy call at his office.

In a tweet, the opposition chief said they deliberated on the state of affairs in both countries as they seek to cement their ties.

The team comprised of Lord Jeremy Purvis from the House of Lords, the Director of British Council in Kenya Jill Coates, and Policy and Parliamentary Affairs Advisor Melike Berker.

“Received Lord Jeremy Purvis from the House of Lords, London who was accompanied by Jill Coates, the Director of British Council in Kenya and Melike Berker, the Policy and Parliamentary Affairs Advisor. We discussed the current state of affairs in both Kenya and the UK,” he said.

Kenya and UK share cordial ties. On 30th August 2018,  President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted then UK Prime Minister Theresa May at State House.

"I am proud to be leading this ambitious trip to Africa and to become the first UK Prime Minister in over 30 years to visit Kenya," May said during the visit.
