Renowned artiste Onyi Jalamo, known for his hit song Tibim, has named politicians he is proud to have worked for.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Sunday posted on Magical Kenya News YouTube channel, the Tibim hit maker said football star McDonald Mariga is one of the politicians he is pleased to have worked for.
He further noted that former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, and his Embakasi South counterpart Julius Mawathe are some of the politicians he is proud to have worked for.
"I am proud to have sang for Mariga. Mariga is one of the people I am proud to have sang for. The other ones are; Tim Wanyonyi, Mawathe of Embakasi and Kidero because when I am stuck, I can call them and they will come through for me. (Kama Mariga mimi najivunia kuimbia Mariga. By the way katika wale watu wote ambao najivunia kuwaimbia mmoja wao ni Mariga, Timothy Wanyonyi wa Westlands na Kidero because hao ni watu ambao hata sasa hivi gari yangu ikiisha mafuta njiani na niwapigie simu wanaweza kunitumia kakitu na Mawadhe wa Embakasi South)," Onyi Jalamo said.
The musician shot to stardom in the lead-up to the 2017 general election during which time he sang for the National Super Alliance (NASA) campaign for Raila Odinga's presidential campaign.
Interestingly enough, Jalamo did not include the former prime minister in the list of politicians he is proud to have offered his services to.
A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders accused the artiste of betrayal for composing a song for the McDonald Mariga campaign in the recently concluded Kibra by-election.
The song titled 'Mariga Pod Pek' was used by the former Inter Milan forward in his Kibra parliamentary campaign in which he came second after ODM's candidate Imran Okoth.
