Reacting to a story on the Standard on Monday which claimed President Uhuru Kenyatta has ditched his deputy William Ruto and embraced ODM leader Raila Odinga, Ndung'u said that showed Kikuyus are fond of using and dumping others for their own selfish interests.

He further revisited the fallout between Kenya's founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the first Vice President Jaramogi Oginga pointing an accusing finger at the former.

The activist said by Uhuru trashing his deal with Ruto he was just preserving the Kikuyus' culture of 'use, betray and dump' which was allegedly started with his father.

"This @StandardKenya subheadline: To Uhuru, Ruto is the past and Raila the present, affirms long-held position that Kikuyu use, betray and dump at will. This political culture started with Jomo and the son is perpetuating it. It an act of transgression," Ndung'u tweeted on Monday.

His remarks come barely hours after former Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe hinted that Uhuru and Raila could form a coalition in 2022.

"Uhuru is going nowhere, even if he stops being president he will be here in the political circles. There are going to be new formations and he can let the former prime minister (Raila Odinga) to vie for the presidency," he said speaking to Citizen TV.

"In such a formation and as by the BBI proposals, then Uhuru can lead the party with the majority in Parliament and easily become a prime minister," he added.

Murathe is said to be a close ally and a long-time confidant of the head of state.
