Many Kenyans only know Lupita Nyong’o as the only Kenyan actress to ever perform at the highest level and receiving worldwide recognition.
However, there are other Kenyans who have had their names written on the history books as some of the best performers.
We take a look at some of the most successful Kenyans in Hollywood.
Kiran Shah
Shah was born in Nairobi, Kenya and has so far featured in many movies as an actor and a stuntman. Among his most famous performances include his stint as Elijah Wood’s (Frodo Baggins) in The Lord of the Rings movies and as Teedo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
He has also played a role in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, where he plays Goblin Scribe, a miniature goblin who records events in Goblin-town and works as a messenger for the Great Goblin.

Owiso Odera
Before his death, November 2016, Owiso took part in many broadcasts and TV Shows but is best remembered for playing the role of Ambassador Odilon Bokassa in Madam Secretary.

Benjamin A Onyango
Benjamin Onyango is known for playing Reverend Jude in God’s Not Dead, but he got his first big gig in Hollywood playing the role of the President’s son’s bodyguard Colonel Emanuel Okeze in Tears of the Sun, which also featured Bruce Willis.

Edi Gathegi
He is a decorated actor and has played a role in numerous productions. His notable acts include; playing the slick villain Mr Solomon in The Blacklist, the nomadic vampire Laurent in The Twilight Saga series. He has also taken part in Gone Baby Gone.
