The journalist is one of Kenya's most renowned investigative reporters and has left the Standard Group's investigative desk 'empty' months after his colleague, Mohammed Ali left to join politics and successfully secured Nyali parliamentary seat, while John Allan Namu, left to found the Africa Uncensored online platform.

Known for Case Files and Inside Story programmes, Onsarigo was appointed the director of communications by Taita Taveta County Governor Granton Samboja.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Political Science/Communication degree from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.

The move comes months after KTN lost news anchors Yvonne Okwara and Mashirima Kapombe and its Managing Editor Joe Ageyo to Royal Media's Citizen TV.
