Reacting to Jaldesa's proposal to have rapists and defilers manhood chopped off, Duale says the majority of male MPs in the National Assembly might not support the amendment.

Jaldesa is proposing radical changes to the Sexual Offences Act.

The Isiolo MP says she has written a proposal to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi seeking to amend Section 43 of the Act.

She wants the Act amended with aim of making punitive laws that will punish sexual offenders.

Jaldesa notes that a 10-year jail term for rapists and defilers should be changed for puntive punishment.

The MP argues that it does not make sense to hand a sex offender 10 years jail term yet the life of the victim has been destroyed.

Duale, who is the National Assembly Majority leader, however, says the proposal might not see the light of the day.

"Muhesh (Honarable member). The proposal will not pass as male MPs will protect their God given organs diligently," Duale said in a tweet to Jaldesa.

Duale said that the proposal would hardly be endorsed in the House because most legislators are men and would not allow a law that would expose their equals to torture.

The proposal by Isiolo Woman Rep has elicited sharp reactions among Isiolo residents and Kenyans.
