In a post on his Facebook page, Mutua said that the president was right to condemn leaders who have chosen to traverse the country spreading politics of division and hate.

"I have listened keenly to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s speech which he delivered during an Akorino church function and I fully support his sentiments. We were elected as leaders to work in our villages to empower our people and deliver them from poverty by initiating life-changing development programmes," read Mutua's post in part.

The county boss said that President Uhuru should be given ample time to serve the people, adding that the Head of State has a clear agenda which he should be allowed to finish.

Mutua said those leaders making unnecessary trips in the country are focused on 2022 and should be reminded the reason why they were elected.

"Mangamangaring leaders who are just focused on 2022 need to be reminded why they were elected - to serve the electorate. They need to go back to their villages and build toilets, markets, schools and support youth programmes," he said.

The outspoken governor said that if he is elected president in 2022, he will transform Kenya into a first world country.
