Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has hit out at leaders opposing the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) on fuel.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, the vocal MP termed the leaders as pretentious, adding that they should man up and stop fooling Kenyans.
He further criticised National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi, saying he should stop pretending as he is a member of the Budget & Appropriations Committee.
Kuria noted that he will not pretend to oppose the VAT on fuel, as he voted to approve the over Sh3 trillion budget and is also the vice chair of the Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Public Works Committee.
A section of ODM MPs has given Treasury CS Henry Rotich a 72-hour ultimatum to shelve the tax, failure to which they will call for countrywide demonstrations.
The Energy Regulatory Commission revised the fuel prices on September 1, 2018, to reflect the 16 per cent VAT.
