Key Raila confidantes including Siaya Senator James Orengo, have in the past insisted that the former Prime Minister will be in the ballot to make his fifth bid in the battle for the county's leadership.

However, while speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Abdullahi said that he does not foresee a situation where Raila who has come shot four times before in his ambitious State House journey, will contest again.

" No, no, there is no chance, in my view," the Senior Counsel said when asked if he thinks Raila will be on the ballot.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who harbors presidential ambitions has emerged as Raila's heir apparent with many foreseeing a situation where the former Prime Minister may decide to throw his weight behind the former Kisauni MP.

If Abdullahi's statement is anything to go by, then Joho is the likely beneficiary in the 2022 political matrix.
