Residents of Elburgon in Molo sub-county have been left in shock after a 30-year-old Erick Yegon hacked his father to death over milk sales.
The suspect was however not lucky as irate members of the public hunted him down and lynched him.
"He went hiding on Monday night after committing the heinous act. When he surfaced on Tuesday morning, residents lynched him," Eric Kibet said.
Yegon is said to have been in a bitter exchange with the 65-year-old father before he took an axe and charged to the old man.
The attacker was demanding Sh200 owed to him by his father from milk proceeds.
Neighbours described the attacker as a violent man who was always a trouble maker.
Area Deputy County Commissioner Naftali Korir confirmed the incident.
He said the two bodies were moved to Elburgon hospital mortuary.
