Speaking on Sunday, the opposition MP accused the DP of contradicting the same government he serves in, courtesy of his camp's recent attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto and his allies have over the past few days faulted and questioned President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga's 2018 truce, terming it a political fraud.

Amisi took issue with the same, saying that the DP is contradicting his boss and should do the honourable thing and step aside as he seems to be having a different ideology.

"He seems not in agreement with the President and should now consider exiting. He cannot hold a top position in the same government he is opposed to," said the lawmaker.

Amisi, an ally of Raila and a member of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party was speaking in an interview on Radio Citizen's Debe La Citizen on Sunday evening.

He added that the handshake will prevail whether Ruto supports it or not, and dared the DP to get out and chat a different path if he cannot stand the current relationship between Raila and Uhuru.

"If he doesn't like it he can get out. You can't fight a government which you are part of," said Amisi.

Ruto has been accusing Raila of using the handshake to shake the Jubilee Party from within, in an alleged attempt to destroy it before the 2022 polls.
