Now serving his third straight term, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is one of the longest-serving lawmakers in the country.
Wielding too much political influence, both inside and outside Parliament, the National Assembly Majority Leader is a man to watch in the 2022 political contest.
Is the former assistant minister going to try something new during the next general election? Or will he stick to his current role?
In a recent weekly question and answer segment with a mainstream publication, Duale said that he will make his next political move known when the right time comes.
"First, I want to thank the people of Garissa Township constituency for electing me for three consecutive times on three different major parties — ODM in 2007, URP in 2013 and Jubilee in 2017. When the time comes, I will go back to the people and seek direction on which seat to vie, either in the executive or the legislature," said the legislator.
With the Deputy President William Ruto still shopping for a running mate in his 2022 presidential bid, is Duale the right man for him?
Alternatively, can the former Dujis MP face off with his own political protege, Garissa Governor Ali Korane for the top county position?
Well, time will tell.
