There was drama at Nyatieko in Mosocho, Kisii County after a clan elder protested his daughter-in-law's involvement in illicit brew business.
Locals said the 71-year-old man identified Lawrence Mokua stormed the house of Maureen Nyanchera, wife to his elder son where he stripped naked.
"Mokua is a respected elder but, Nyanchera who was married to the home 5 years ago has been making and selling chang'aa. Mokua removed all his clothes, walked naked in the compound shouting that he will curse Nyanchera if she can't stop engaging in outlawed chang'aa business," said Bartholomew Machuka.
Machuka said Mokua's wife Esther Bosibori persuade him to wear his clothes.
"Were it not for Bosibori, Mokua could have gone out of the homestead naked," noted Machuka.
A local assistant chief Simon Ochoi said he stormed the homestead and destroyed over 100 litres of local brew famously known as 'kangara'.
"It is high time residents team up to ensure illicit brew business comes to an end in the area," he noted.
The chief assured that the war on illegal brew is ongoing.
