Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Moffat Teya has urged the residents to embrace patience as local leaders organize themselves to host President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Teya said the Head of State will be invited to tour the county once everything is put in order.
"We are struggling both as executive and county assembly. We are sorry to Nyamira people after the President failed to come to Nyamira during his Kisii county tour. This is because we are trying to put our house in order. Give us a little patience," Teya said.
He addressed the public at Nyaronge village in Nyamira County on Friday
Teya said the President had only planned for the Kisii County tour.
He defended Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama from the numerous attacks.
"Those criticizing the governor don't know the procedure followed for the President to be invited. I'm appealing to local politicians to stop negative criticism since we will also have to invite the President soon," he added.
Teya said the county boss didn't commit any crime by attending President Uhuru Kenyatta's function in Kisii County.
