President Uhuru Kenyatta has found himself on the receiving end minutes after passing a condolence message to the family of the former Youth Fund boss Bruce Odhiambo. Bruce died on Tuesday after he was rushed to ICU after developing heart complications.
Kenyatta eulogised Bruce as a philanthropic individual who possed God-given talents, adding that his generosity benefited many. This was received with hostility from Kenyans on Twitter who expressed mixed reactions on the same.
"I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of my friend Bruce Odhiambo, following his death. Bruce shared his God-given talents through philanthropy and many benefitted from his generosity. May God give his family the strength to bear this loss," he tweeted.
Bruce quit his job unceremoniously in March last year after he found himself at the center of Sh 180 million scandals. I'm 2017, together with former CEO Catherine Namuye were charged with conspiring to steal Sh180 million from the public kitty.
This came after a special report submitted by PIC concluded that Youth fund lost a total of Sh180.3 million through a well-orchestrated and dubious non-existent consultancy service scheme that was crafted and jointly executed by the two.
