Addressing mourners in Funyula, Kakamega county on Saturday, the leader said that he will not air his views on Echesa's firing as he was never involved in his hiring.

He added that President Uhuru Kenyatta as well never consulted him before sacking the latter on Friday, and would better leave the Head of State to handle his own issues.

“I have no business talking about the sacking of Echesa because the President did not ask me when he was hiring him neither did he ask me before sacking him,” he was quoted by the Standard.

"Sacking of Echesa is an affair of Jubilee which we are not a party to it and the President can hire and fire his minister but if you sack one from our region replace with someone from our land," added the Ford Kenya party leader.

He also urged the president to use the same tact against members of his cabinet whose ministries have been implicated in graft.

The Ford Kenya party leader said that Kenyans are tired of empty threats from the president and are eagerly waiting to see him punishing his corrupt officials.

“We want to see heads roll, CSs who have misappropriated public funds should be fired so that Kenyans can know the war on corruption is serious,” added Wetangula.

But speaking during a funeral service in Matungu on Saturday, Echesa insisted that he is yet to receive official information about his sacking.

He added that he was never told the region sons behind the same.
