The former Vice President says nothing major has happened after the famous handshake.

Kalonzo said millions of Kenyans and himself are concerned about the situation.

He asked President Kenyatta to expedite the unity agenda he agreed on with Raila.

“Kenyans including myself included have started to question the seriousness of the March 9 handshake, we want to see action,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo addressed the press in Kitui Town on Wednesday.

The former Vice President said time was running out hence pertinent issues like electoral reforms and justice need to take shape.

He warned that the country is likely to remain more divided if President Kenyatta and Raila do not fast track their agenda.

“They should move out of their offices and meet Kenyans on the ground in the push for unity,” he said.

Kalonzo, however, said together with other leaders, they will continue supporting the push for national unity.

He said corruption, tribalism, electoral injustice and other social evils facing the country will not be stamped out unless they work together.

There have been concerns over the slow pace at which the unity pact agreed on between Uhuru and Raila is taking.

On Wednesday, President Kenyatta,  during a memorial service for Kenya’s founder President Jomo Kenyatta in Nairobi,  defended the March 9 handshake with Raila.

The President maintained that he and Raila are committed to see a united and prosperous Kenya.
