Talent is very crucial in life. It has benefited many people especially the youth who take their talents as a career.
In Eldoret, we meet a Moi University graduate Brevia Barasa who is well known for his talent in playing rugby. Rugby is not only his talent but also his passion.
He has been playing for the Kitale rugby team for four years and has been a key player.
Brevia had a dream of joining the Kenya national rugby sevens team.
"My ultimate goal was to join the national team," he said sadly.
Unfortunately, the 25-year-old announced his resignation from rugby on Tuesday after suffering a severe knee injury which has forced him to hang his boots. There is no hope of him going back to the field in the future after being ruled out for the rest of his life.
Speaking to Hivisasa, Brevia remorsefully narrated his resignation from rugby.
"I have always wanted to play it forever but it's quite obvious you can't do it the whole of your life. It comes a time when you will have to hang your boots. My time to hang them has come, though prematurely. Some things happen in your life and have no control over them. I know the injury has really killed my dream as a player" he narrated.
Although it is hard for a young and passionate player to accept such a situation, Brevia revealed that he has accepted he now hopes that in the future, he will go back to the field as a coach.
"Though painful but you just have to swallow the bitter pill and move on. Maybe one day I can be a coach and the little knowledge I acquired on the field for the past few years I can use it to help out some teens who are enthusiastic about the sport," he said.
