Bongo star Harmonize alias Kondeboy was yesterday beaten in the MTV Europe Music Award that was held at FIBES Conference & Exhibition Centre of Seville, Spain.
The Award which is usually presented by Viacom International Media Networks to honor artists and music in pop culture was given to the Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy.
This comes after the 'Uno' hitmaker who was the only artist from the whole East Africa region to be listed had spent the best part of last week urging his fans on social media to vote for him, a process that started on October 1 and ended on 2nd November.
The Bongo artist who had a recent controversial fallout with his long-time friend and artist Diamond Platnumz could not bring the award home after the Burna Boy garnered most votes from fans who voted.
MTV Africa through Twitter went ahead to congratulate the Nigerian for his big win.
"The winner for the ‘Best African Act’ is @burnaboy. Congratulations on your #MTVEMA win!!. The African Giant @burnaboy did it!! He just scooped the #MTVEMA award for the ‘Best African Act’," read a tweet from MTV Africa.
Burnaboy emerged the top beating the like of South Africa's Prince Kaybee, Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, popularly known as Nasty C and Teni.
