Kimilili MP has escalated his verbal attacks on the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli.
The Deputy President Dr William Ruto-backing legislator rubbished the Bukhungu meeting being planned to bring together Western Kenya leaders to discuss the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
He termed a death certificate as more important that those planning the BBI conference.
"A death certificate of your parents can secure you a bursary, secure you a loan from HELB, its therefore clear that a death certificate is more important than Atwoli and his group who are planning a meeting in Bukhungu to drum up support for recommendations that are not opposed, " the MP stated on Friday.
Western Kenya leaders supporting the handshake and are allies of ODM party leader Raila Odinga will meet in the coming days to discuss the BBI.
The meeting comes after a meeting that was held in Kisii on Friday and was graced by high profile leaders from Nyanza region.
Allies of the DP have, by and large, snubbed the meetings even as organisers maintain that the meetings are open to all irrespective of their political inclination.
Barasa has maintained that the meetings are a waste of time and that the leaders who attend them have their priorities upside down.
