Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has condemned former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale after he was spotted carrying stones during the recently concluded Kibra by-election.
In an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday morning, the county MP rubbished assertions that there was violence in Kibra during the mini poll.
She noted that ODM leaders and supporters were trying to avert cases of voter bribery by handing over culprits to the police officers present at the polling stations.
"Nobody was hit," said Wanga.
"Boni Khalwale had no need to carry and should never have picked stones in Kibra, there were police all over," she said.
On Thursday, November 7, Kibra constituents elected Benard Imran Okoth (ODM) as their new member of parliament following the death of Ken Okoth. Okoth died of colorectal cancer on July 26, this year.
During the mini poll, isolated cases of violence involving some Jubilee leaders and ODM supporters were witnessed in the constituency.
Khalwale was reportedly attacked by rowdy youth at Laini Saba before he decided to pick the stones to defend himself.
On his part, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was roughed up in the presence of his Dagoretti North counterpart Simba Arati.
