Musa, the private diver hired by the family of the victims of the Likoni Ferry Crossing incident, has been rehired by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho after being kicked out by the government.
The diver was rehired to work alongside a South African team hired by the Mombasa County government to help in the recovery efforts currently underway.
Musa was kicked out of the recovery efforts and his boat confiscated by the Kenya Ferry Services (KFS) over what the government says is giving contradicting information to the public and family that could jeopardise the recovery efforts.
"Mombasa governor Ali Joho was here himself yesterday and he gave Sh2 million shillings to a private company and of course also rehired Musa, " an NTV on the ground confirmed.
The rehiring of the private diver underscores the supremacy battles between the government and private divers.
Over ten locations with objects have been identified and the divers will move to the locations to determine whether the car is in one of those locations.
