The 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results is expected to be released anytime.
Last week, Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ambassador Amina Mohamed revealed that the results will be out before Christmas.
According to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), 1.6 Million candidates sat for the exam in November.
North Eastern counties, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, and Marsabit, are expected to post better results in the exams this year’s exam owing to improved security in the region that has often hit with insecurity issues.
In the last two years, schools in North Eastern region have been posting fair results.
The poor results in Northern Kenya have been blamed on insecurity and mass exodus on non-local teachers from the region.
Here are top schools likely to post best performances in North Eastern region.
1. Garissa High School
It is located in Garissa County.
The school has been posting exemplary performance in the last five years.
In the 2017 results, Garissa posted a mini-score of 7.58.
2. Umu-Salamu Girls High School
It is located in Garissa County.
It is among the best performing Girls' school in the county.
It is expected to post a good performance this year.
3. Wajir Boys High School
It is the top performing school in Wajir County.
In the 2017 KCSE results, the school scooped a mini-score of 6.58.
4. Mandera High school
It is located in Mandera County.
It tops the list of best performers in the county.
In 2017, the school managed a mini-score of 7.5
5. St Paul’s secondary school
It is located in Marsabit County.
In 2017, the school scooped a mini-score of 8.06
