Speaking on K24 TV's Daily Brief programme on Tuesday, Wajackoyah termed the leaders as 'agents of confusion' who are only out to seek relevance.

"These Mt Kenya leaders should not come to tell us that the president has sidelined their region. These are agents of confusion who should know that despite President Uhuru Kenyatta coming from their region belongs to the whole of Kenya," Wajackoyah said.

He added that the politicians who attended the meeting were 'sent' by someone to trigger the debate on the 2022 succession politics.

"The President has been quiet on his preferred successor which could have prompted someone keen on dragging the Head of State to this debate to organise for the impromptu meeting. Many of these leaders are sycophants save for Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu and MP Maina Kamanda who seem to have independent voices," he added.

Wajakoya said that the leaders should have called for the meeting to tell their electorates what they have been able to achieve for them and not to complain that the President has abandoned and sidelined them on developmental issues.

He pointed out that the purpose of devolution was to ensure that every region utilises the resources at its disposal to better the lives of residents and avoid such complaints to the President.

Wajakoya also wondered why these leaders could not ask to meet Deputy President William Ruto whom he said is powerful enough to address whatever concerns that they have.
