In a move to answer the big question on the poor education performance and transition rate in Mombasa schools, the county government has embarked on a survey to get to the bottom of this ancient problem.
This is after the Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi met primary school heads and parents at the Star of the Sea Primary School on Saturday.
The DG briefed them about the mission to the history of the poor education performances, saying soon teachers, parents and students will take part in the research to enable the County Government to hypothetically know where it has not been putting efforts into.
"This project will gather data that will go along way and form platform of activities and injections towards the realisation of our goals in education," he said.
According to Kingi, one of the efforts Governor Hassan Ali Joho has put towards this year to the same motive is paying fees of all students who garnered 300 marks and above in the 2018 KCPE. Their form one fees will be catered for.
The County Government's efforts also received a boost from the Sharrif Nassir Foundation and Mvita CDF led by area Member of Parliament, Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir who delivered revision books enough to all public students in the county.
"This partnership is what will change the face of our education and moving forward we will not relent until we get it right, sooner than later."
