Nyamira County Commissioner Isaiah Nakoru has assured members of the public that criminals will not have peace.
The county boss insisted that members of the public must work closely with police to ensure no criminal is hiding in the villages.
"Criminals will not have peace in their hideouts because police officers are out to apprehend the criminals from their hideouts and arraign them in court to be charged," he said.
The commissioner stated that local youths who have joined gang groups must surrender to authorities or stop engaging in crime before the law catches up with them.
"Any youth who will surrender himself or herself to authorities will be forgiven. We need Nyamira county to be a safe place for everyone. Traders must not fear for their lives anymore," he added.
He warned that police officers who will be caught colluding with criminals will face the full force of the law.
"Police must arrest criminals and not helping them to escape. Any security office caught engaging in illegal dealings will be sacked and be taken to court," he added.
