Speaking at Kapng’etuny,  Kericho County on Sunday, the second in command urged DCI to stay away from graft cases.

Ruto instead called upon the office of the DCI to hand over the cases to Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to probe the same.

He faulted leaders aligned to African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga for politicizing the war against graft and added that the leaders should allow the right government institutions to handle these cases.

“The fight against corruption must proceed on the basis of correct information and by competent institutions,” said Ruto, as quoted by Standard.

He said that his team is not ready to allow a section of leaders backing the Luo political kingpin to distract the Jubilee government in the fight to end the vice in the country.

However, some of the Jubilee MPs including Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny, Nyeri MP Wambugu Ngunjiri, Igembe North MP Maoka Maore, Kasarani MP Mercy Gakuya and Nominated Maina Kamanda have insisted that they will not be allowed to be demonized by politicians who want to use their positions for selfish gains.

They insisted those accused of looting public resources must face the law.
