Embattled Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe is contemplating joining elective politics.
According to a close friend of the sassy tv girl, she is planning to join the race for Murang’a Women Representative in 2022.
“She is being advised not to let this bad publicity destroy her. She will garner for the Murang’a MP seat,” the ally said.
Maribe is facing a murder case at the high court together with her lover Joseph Kuria Irungu.
The two are accused of killing Nairobi businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Kimani was found killed at her Kilimani apartment and the prosecution says Jowie was the last person to be with the deceased before he left the apartment to Maribe’s house in Lang’ata.
While celebrating her birthday on December 18, Maribe gave more hints to her intentions to join politics when she held a party at a joint in Kilimani and hosted elders from Murang’a County.
A source who attended the party said Maribe told the elderly women about her intention and asked them to pray for her.
“The script is that even if she is not elected she can be nominated because she has friends in high places within Kenya’s political corridors,” the friend added.
Maribe, whose star in the media industry has been shooting, comes from a political family. Her father, Maribe Mwangi, is a senior citizen of Kiharu constituency in Murang’a and a two-time loser for the Kiharu parliamentary seat.
