The leaders led by Samuel Omwando, a Kisii based politician they said Muturi should be sent packing.

"We don't want to have a person serving as the speaker who is not neutral. Muturi sided with the Jubilee government and helped in the illegal passage of the 8 percent VAT on fuel but NASA and Jubilee MPs opposed the proposals. Let the MPs impeach Muturi," he said.

Omwando said the hike in fuel prices will be a burden to poor Kenyans.

Ex-Bonchari MP Protus Kebati said Muturi's integrity has been compromised therefore, he is unfit to continue serving as the National Assembly Speaker.

"Muturi failed to respect the MPs stand on the new proposals by the President. MPs must show him the door because he went against the will of the MPs and Kenyans by supporting the illegal passage of Uhuru's proposals," he said.

Rachael Otundo, a local politician stated that if Muturi continues to serve as the Speaker, MPs will have problems in their legislative duties.

"Muturi is barrier and MPs must consider kicking him out or their legislative duties will be hard for them," she said.
