Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was among top personalities who attended TV Journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu's bail ruling at the Milimani law courts on Tuesday.
Kuria, State House Director of Digital Communications Dennis Itumbi and other top media personalities exchanged hugs the moment Maribe was freed on bail.
The Gatundu South MP has been coming to court in solidarity with Maribe since she pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
Among other notable politicians who have attended Maribe’s court sessions are Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja.
Maribe’s close media colleagues among them Citizen TV Political Editor Francis Gachuri and Sports news anchor Michael Okinyi were also present in court.
Maribe and Jowie are charged with the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
High court Judge James Wakiaga has however freed Maribe on Sh2 Million bond and alternative cash bail of Sh1 Million on grounds that the prosecution failed to provide compelling reasons to deny her bail.
Maribe’s fiancé, Jowie, will however remain in custody pending hearing and determination of the murder case.
The trial will begin in June 2019.
