Nine people among them seven foreigners from DR Congo, Rwanda and Uganda were captured yesterday in Kilimani, Nairobi with millions of fake US Dollars.
They include Bongo Ulerech, Olivier Mango, George Sr Gboe, Richard Kabasili, Egid Musolieva,Timothy Muhumuza, Brian Kimani and Ken Lugwili.
“Nine people among them Seven Foreigners from DR Congo, Rwanda & Uganda were arrested Yesterday in Kilimani with millions of fake US Dollars," office of the DCI revealed.
On Friday, detectives from the DCI captured seven suspects in association with fake million US dollars grabbed in a similar zone, which is associated to be the hotbed fake currency.
The suspects are: Stephen Mark, Noah Amollo, Ian Otieno, Jotham Mugo, Joseph Majanga, Peter Otieno and Kevin Otieno. As per the DCI, the suspects were captured following intelligent reports. The seven will be summoned on Monday.
A month ago, in a comparable task, detectives recouped a huge number of fake US Dollars, Zambian Kwachas and more than 100 kilograms of counterfeit gold pieces along Kiboko/Mukoma Road in Nairobi.
Four foreigners; one Congolese, two Tanzanians, one Nigerian and four Kenyans were sometimes back also nabbed.
The suspects are currently in lawful custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday to face appropriate charges. Cases of fake money have flooded the market even after DCI George Kinoti said he will ensure they are minimised.
