South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro observes that having an Orange Democratic Movement party ticket is no longer a guarantee to win polls in some regions across the country where it dominates.
On Friday, ODM lost in Ugenya and Embakasi South constituencies by-elections, raising a conversation whether or not the party is losing grip in regions believed to be her strongholds.
And on Sunday, Mr Osoro, who was elected on a KNC ticket, told off ODM leadership, adding that it had lost grip and may never be resuscitated again.
"Whoever lied to some people that once someone gets hold of some ticket or knows how to insult some leaders who dont subscribe to their line of thinking is the AUTOMATIC way of winning elections alikosea sana..POLITICS IS LOCAL.
"The earlier some people know that the better..the social media hype contributes 0.00001% influence.I actually 'LOST' elections on facebook when I quit ODM for little known K.N.C just as I am 'LOSING' 2022 for not subscribing to some school of thought," argued Mr Osoro.
The first time legilator decamped from ODM claiming that a section of party honchos had planned to rig him out in primaries. He joined a party associated with his predecessor Manson Oyonyo.
During 2017 polls, ODM lost all parliamentary seats but managed to win gubernatorial and see elections in both Kisii and Nyamira Counties. Also Kisii Woman Rep Janet Ong'era was elected in the ticket.
Mr Osoro has been rallying for Dr William Ruto in the two counties which have predominantly voted for Mr Raila Odinga in the last four elections. He was however nurtured into politics by Odinga.
