Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has expressed his gratitude to Members of the Senate for passing two bills.
In Facebook post, the legislator hailed the passing of the Tea Bill 2018 and The Care and Protection of Older Members of the Society which he sponsored.
The passing comes as a big win to him as he has tirelessly worked to see the two bills, which will benefit tea farmers and the elderly, passed.
What remains is for the bill to go to the National Assembly so that members can look at it.
He has called Wednesday on the National Assembly to expedite the passage of the two bills.
"Great news to small scale farmers and elderly. The Senate has successfully passed the Tea Bill, 2018 and The Care and Protection of Older Members of the Society Bill which am sponsoring. The Bills will now proceed to the National Assembly for concurrence.
"A Big Thank you to my fellow Senators for endorsing the Bills and the entire team that I worked with for their input and support. I urge the NA to expedite passage of these bills to liberalise the tea industry and enable the elderly live decent lives.#KeepingThePromise," Senator Aaron Cheruiyot's Facebook post read.
