Rocked in hot and cold relationship for years, Uhuru landed at Raila Odinga's home on Friday where he took breakfast before holding a closed-door meeting with members of Odinga family.

He said: "I am pleased to have joined my brother @RailaOdinga for breakfast this morning at his home in Bondo, enroute to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology for the 6th graduation ceremony #JOOUSTGraduation."

Upon Jomo Kenyatta's death in 1978, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and his family attended the State burial in Nairobi despite their ideological differences that saw Kenyatta force the latter to house arrest.

And in 1994 when Jaramogi died, none of the Kenyatta's attended the funeral or subsequent memorial services that have been held for over two decades.

Mr Raila Odinga, who hosted Uhuru said: "Together with Mama @IdaOdinga we welcomed President @UKenyatta to the Museum of my Father the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, where he laid wreaths at his Mausoleum as well as the final resting place of our late Son Fidel Odinga."

One of the proponent of the handshake between Uhuru and Raila, Dr Oburu Oginga, also attended the Friday morning reconciliation tour that was succeeded by a large rally at Ugunja town.
