Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has hit out at some politicians lamenting over President Uhuru Kenyatta's decision to sack Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Rashid Echesa.
Duale says those attacking the President are doing it maliciously.
The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly further says the president does not need to consult anyone before appointing or sacking cabinet secretaries.
Duale now wants politicians aggrieved with Echesa's sacking to stop dragging president Kenyatta's name into the mud.
"It is malicious that some people are now maligning the president following the changes he made to his cabinet and we are telling them to stop," he told journalists in Garissa on Monday.
Duale stated that as the appointing authority, the president has his reasons as to why he made changes to the cabinet and cannot be questioned.
The Garissa MP said that they will defend the Jubilee government against people he claimed to want to bring it down.
Echesa was sacked on Friday last week through an executive order signed by President Kenyatta.
The former CS's sacking has elicited debate with his allies crying foul.
Echesa's docket has been taken over by Ambassador Amina Mohamed.
Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) chairperson professor George Magoha has been nominated to take over the Education docket.
In the executive order, President Kenyatta also reshuffled several principal secretaries (PSs).
