Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his Kitui counterpart Charity Ngilu's decision to endorse Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate for the Kibra by-election Imran Okoth has not augured well with lawyer Miguna Miguna.
In a tweet on Saturday, Miguna faulted the two leaders for endorsing candidates outside their parties.
He said Mutua and Ngilu's endorsement of Imran, is not critical compared to social justice and electoral transparency.
"Politics without principles is con-manship. Dr Alfred Mutua urged on Kenya Police as they murdered unarmed and innocent civilians. Their crimes? They had supported Raila Odinga and ODM in 2007. Raila Odinga is an incurable con-man," he said.
"Ngilu and Mutua are members of Jubilee Party of Kenya that has ruined the country and made Kenyans poor, humiliated, tortured, murdered and jobless. Winning a seat in Kibra should never be more important than electoral justice, social justice and rule of law," he added.
On Saturday, the two governors joined ODM leaders in Kibra and vowed to support the party's candidate in next week's by-election
"At the end of the day, the people of Kibra deserve the best. From where we stand as a party, we are confident that Imran represents the aspirations of his people and will carry the legacy of the Late MP Ken Okoth to improve the lives of the people of Kibra," Governor Mutua said.
