According to Xavier Bettel, the British government isn't pushing for any serious proposal in line with a new deal.
Mr Johnson, who had earlier left a joint press conference with Mr Battel due to noisy protestors said that a good deal might still be on the horizon. A government source said that UK and Brussels still have quite a mickle gap to fill in order to achieve a deal.
Boris Johnson visited Luxembourg with a motive of holding a conversation with the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker together with the EU's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, and not forgetting Mr Bettel.
After the working lunch, Mr Johnson informed the public that he had been encouraged by the EU's willingness to share in the UKs no-deal-exit. However, no breakthrough happened to be registered.
According to the European Commission, for it to consider UK proposals, they need to have a notwithstanding touch of compatibility with the withdrawal agreement. This withdrawal agreement has been rejected more than twice with the MPs.
In the heart of noisy protests by anti-Brexit protestors, confusion aggravated when Mr Bettel addressed the media without Mr Johnson. Giving his speech, Mr Better assured the public that Boris Johnson held the future of all UK citizens in his hands and that he should move a nerve to break the deadlock in the process.
Right on the podium, in the middle of his speech, Mr Bettel warned Mr Johnson "you can't hold the future hostage for party political gain" He also added that the EU is on the lookout for concrete proposals. "We need written proposals and the time is ticking, so stop speaking and act," he said.
After the working lunch, Mr Johnson threatened that there would be no agreement until EU shifted its position on the backstop and the insurer's policy which would embrace an open border on the island of Ireland
