Political analyst Michael Agwanda now says that Deputy President William Ruto is again loitering, but this time in churches and religious destinations.
Ruto is known for his many tours to churches for fundraisers and summons, with the concluded weekend alone seeing him attend services in Catholic and Anglican churches in Embu County.
Speaking on Radio Maisha Monday morning, Agwanda joked that the many trips have not only confused Kenyans on Ruto’s actual church and religion but has rendered the DP uncertain on the same as well.
The analyst, however, noted that the DP's restlessness is in line with his silent campaigns as he warms up for his first shot at the presidency in the approaching 2022 general elections.
‘’Yeye anaendelea kijipigia debe lakini ameenda kanisa nyingi hadi sasa imekua vigumu kujua kanisa yake haswa ni gani. Kila mwisho wa wiki yuko katika kanisa kadhaa tofauti (he is indeed campaigning but is overdoing it in churches such that it has become hard knowing his actual religious centre),’’ he said.
A similar concern was recently raised by opposition leader Raila Odinga who in mid last month accused the DP of loitering and spending alarmingly large amount of money in fundraisers, raising questions on his sources of income.
Ruto, in his response, rubbished Odinga's claims, saying that he is investing in heaven.
