Kenyans are calling for the immediate arrest of former Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna after a video of him surfaced on social media.

In the video, Kiuna is heard telling a certain community in Likia, Njoro, to prepare for war against another community.

Kiuna was speaking on Thursday January 10, 2019 at the village after an incident where one person was killed during a theft incident.

The deceased, a 33-year-old man, was killed by rustlers who stole sheep from a neighbour’s homestead. He was killed during a recovery mission.

The incident, however, degenerated into a tribal issue as one community accused the other of waging war against it.

The theft incident, they said, was just a scapegoat to cover a well-planned attack against members of one community.

Kiuna clashed with area MP Charity Kathambi who accused him of inciting communities in efforts to resurrect his dead political career.

In the video, which is in our possession but we cannot publish it as it goes against our policy on conflict sensitive reporting, Kiuna is heard making comments to the effect that communities should start preparing for skirmishes.

Angry Kenyans called on Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to arrest the politician immediately.
