Even after sacrificing their times to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's bid, a number of politicians from Gusii have to wait for a little bit longer before landing state jobs.

On Friday, Uhuru made appointments that saw a number of Raila Odinga's handlers Robert Arunga and Norman Magaya securing government favours.

But in Gusii, things may not have gone well for top campaigners who helped Uhuru to improve his scoreline during 2017 polls.

Among them is former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati, who unsuccessfully vied to Nyamira gubernatorial seat.

Before joining the race, Nyambati was incharge of Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.

Former North Mugirango MP Joseph Kiangoi did not also make it. While he contested Nyamira senatorial seat and lost to Okong'o Mogeni, he had also been promised by Uhuru during campaigns.

Another notable omission was Winfred Ombui, also a former minister who dedicated himself fully in Jubilee campaigns.

Former Kisii Town mayor Sam Nyangeso did not feature anywhere in the appointments despite coordinating Jubilee campaigns in Gusii.

And for opposition, with Raila Odinga's allies making it to government, former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire was also a notable omission given his close relationship with Raila.

Lucky to secure an appointment was Doris Aburi, a former Egesa FM presenter who contested Kisii Women Rep seat unsuccessfully.
