Residents of Kegogi village in Keroka township are morning the death of a 30-year-old man who committed suicide after he found a love text message in his wife's mobile phone.
Confirming the incident area chief James Ndege said the deceased Nicholas Ogoti took his own life on suspicion that his wife Angeline Moraa is adulterous.
"Ogoti locked himself in the house protesting a love text message he found in his wife's phone. He hanged himself using a mosquito net," said Ndege.
The administrator urged men to stop taking their own lives but, instead embrace peaceful means to solve marital differences.
He said upon questioning the deceased wife, she revealed that the love message was sent from her ex-husband.
The chief called on women to be faithful in marriage and keep off their ex-men.
"Couples should learn to trust each other for the sake of building strong marriages. Ogoti's death should be the last suicide case in love gone sour," he noted.
Mr. Ndege confirmed that the deceased body was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital morgue.
