Residents of Kenyorora village in Keboye sub location, Bomariba in Kisii County are mourning the death of a man who hanged himself on Tuesday afternoon.
Confirming the incident, Igonga administration police boss Nicholas Omondi said the deceased George Kora Onditi had been quarreling with his wife.
"Onditi had a domestic quarrel with his wife, a mother of two on Monday night who later escaped from the house to an unknown place with their two children. He searched for them but, in vain," said Omondi.
The police boss said an angered Onditi arrived at his house on Tuesday at 2 pm entered in with a rope in his hands and hanged himself.
"His body was found dangling from in his house by his aunt, Ann Bosirbori," he said.
According to Mr Omondi, the deceased committed suicide because he was stressed after his wife went into hiding with his two kids.
He said cases of suicide are on the rise in the area and challenged members of the clergy to intervene with prayers.
The deceased body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital morgue.
