The passion, nostalgia and warmth that unites a father and son was at play in Rikenye, Kitutu Chache South when millionaire businessman Don Bosco Gichana landed.
Five years of anguish and desperation culminated in tears of joy as Mr. Bosco, who was in prison for the entire period, reunited with his ageing father, Mzee Gichana at home.
The sombre reunited ignited memories as Mr. Bosco laid wreath on his mother's grave, over two years later since her burial.
But even before than, Bosco wept openly when he first hugged his father as an enthusiastic crowd watched from a distance.
Gichana pleaded guilty to money laundering and fraud charges, a crime which he insists was a mere set-up by his critics back home.
At Gusii stadium where thousands of his supporters had gathered, a charged Bosco narrated his ordeal at Tanzania prison but said he has 'since moved on'.
Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi were among high profile guests who graced the event.
