A section of leaders from Wajir County have criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta for moving Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed from the Education Ministry to the Sports docket.
The leaders led by Wajir east MP Rashid Kassim said it was very unfortunate to place Professor George Magoha in the Ministry of Education.
Kassim said the decision by President Kenyatta to move CS Amina is an affront to nomadic communities as he faulted Magoha’s leadership in the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
In a video shared by KTN News, Kassim said Prof Magoha was behind the decision by the examination body to cancel the exam results of some schools in North Eastern.
The MP who was speaking over the weekend during the awarding of bursaries amounting to Sh20 million to needy students revealed that more than 3,150 candidates had their results cancelled over alleged involvement in examination irregularities.
“Decision by President Kenyatta to replace CS Amina Mohamed with Professor George Magoha is an affront to nomadic communities. Professor Magoha may have an impressive CV but his performance in the education ministry has been riddled with questionable actions,” said Kassim.
CS Amina replaced Rashid Echesa who was fired from the Sports docket.
