In the middle of confusions within Jubilee Party, President Uhuru Kenyatta shared podium with his deputy William Ruto for the first time in three weeks time.
Local media reported that the two were not in communication with each other, arguing that they were only using proxies to make all important communication in the past few days.
But on Saturday, Ruto who had earlier shared podium with Raila Odinga in Kisumu during the installation of Bishop Philip Anyolo as Archbishop, Kisumu, jetted to Nairobi where be attended a wedding in which Uhuru was present at Ngong' Race Course.
"Congratulations James Bukusi & Makena Murungi. May the journey of your marriage be marked by love and trust.
"Kenya will become a more cohesive, secure & prosperous nation when our young people start accepting one another without using tribe or religion as a guide. @WilliamsRuto," wrote Uhuru on Twitter. https://twitter.com/UKenyatta/status/1084128924962115584?s=19
Mr Ruto was understandably set to meet Uhuru in Mombasa on Friday but instead chose to meet a delegation of religious leaders from North Rift at his Sugoi home, further raising eyebrows.
Barely a fortnight ago, Mr David Murathe, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, openly dismissed Ruto's chances of succeeding the president, a move that heightened temperature within Jubilee Party.
Afterwards, the DP's communication team shared Uhuru's Facebook post on the wedding on the Facebook page. It is not clear why they did not draft a post for the DP. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2449352175093305&id=244554088906469
