Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa now says her meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday was 'genuine handshake' in what is believed to be a jibe at Raila Odinga.
In February, ODM party ratified NEC resolutions in which Ms Jumwa was expelled from the party over her close ties with DP Ruto. She could lose her seat should Registrar of Political Parties affirm the party's decision.
And hours after meeting the two Jubilee leaders, Jumwa lauded their commitment to bring the country together, suggesting that the famous handshake between Uhuru and Raila was not genuine.
"Earlier today, I had another 'Handshake' with H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta. Also, I shared a light moment with both the President and the DP.#GenuineHandshake#CascadingHandshakeManenos," wrote Jumwa on her Facebook.
Recently, Raila Odinga said the party was ready to forgive her should she apologise formally for disrespecting it's constitution. But the second term legislator has dismissed such offer.
Suna East MP Junet Mohammed sarcastically lauded Jumwa's meeting with the top leadership, suggesting that she had officially joined Jubilee Party. He also said the move was welcome.
"When you disagree with your party and join another one, you do it as Hon Aisha Jumwa did yesterday.. Mchana peupe!! Congratulations Hon Aisha," he tweeted.
